Opening my mouth right now would just solidify my pale skin, but I’ll just say three things. One, what the fuck was MS thinking when they decided it wasn’t important to load 3rd party storage device drivers from CD or generic USB host device during installation? Given that (two), why the fuck would intel make modern motherboards without a floppy connection? And number three, bless ubuntu’s absolutely effortless ability to GRUB it up and re-partition without making other OS’s on the drive burp in the slightest.
But the icing on the cake after my aforementioned nightmare scenario is… tada! Once your head’s above water and you’re back up and running, you’re out of activations and MS won’t give you a new one. *images of dancing cats*
