Ten years ago today, NCSA Mosaic was first released, marking the first release of a web browser which could display inline images.
Although the HTTP protocol itself outdates Mosiac by several years, the development of a browser with inline images marked a shift in the way the web was used and developed, allowing it to come into its own as a powerful internet resource.
